PROJECTS

The projects that have been started and realized so far:

FOR THE SAFE AND CLEAN UNA

The aim of this project is locating, recording, removing and destroying of mines and other explosives that remained after the war, as well as all other murderous devices thrown in the water currents by irresponsible citizens during the recent years.

FLORA AND FAUNA OF THE UNA RIVER

The aim of this project is to present the riches of life under the water surface to the citizens and particularly to the school youth in the scientifically popular and interesting way. The next objective is to teach our citizens how to recognize and name most of the species of flora and fauna of our water currents, and to educate them to recognize changes of this unique eco-system as a precise indicator of ecological condition.

KARST SOURCES IN THE BIHAC MUNICIPALITY AREA

The project is of scientific and research character and it is the first one in this field which will study and explore karst sources in the Bihac area. At the same time this is the first project of the kind in our country.
In this project are included: Ecological research team from the Bihac High School "JAPODI", Diving club "UNA" from Bihac, Diving club "SLAP" from Bosanska Krupa, Diving club "VIR-SANA" Sanski Most, students and employees of the Biotechnical Faculty Bihac and the Faculty of Natural Sciences Sarajevo, speleologists and scuba divers from BiH, Czech Republic, Hungary and France.

KARST PHENOMENON

During our relatively limited entries in the sources and caves filled with water, we found certain life forms which surprised our and foreign scientific public from the field of speleo-biology.
We found and took photograph of Proteus Anguinus  and extremely rare species Isopoda Aselota Sphaeromides, for the first time determined in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and so far it has been found only in East France and one part of Italy.
How enormous and significant are those discoveries demonstrate the interest showed by the experts from several acknowledged universities worldwide, such as Alberta University from Canada, Illinois University SAD, Biotechnical Faculties from Ljubljana and Zagreb.
Scientists from the Faculty of Natural Sciences Sarajevo and Biotechnical Faculty Bihac took part in this project.

INTERNATIONAL CAVE DIVING EXPEDITION UNA SANA CANTON 2005

The expedition was organized with the aim of exploring numerous sources and flooded speleo objects which hide many secrets, yet unknown to the public.
This is a very exciting project, especially when we know that there are untouched locations where no one has ever reached yet.
In the present time, to discover something new and be the first is undoubtedly exciting and it is a dream of every explorer.

Taking into consideration number and size of locations which already are or will be the subject of our speleo-diving explorations, we expect long- term speleo-diving activity, which require huge capacities that can only be provided by participation of domestic and foreign teams within the Expedition itself.

A NEW PROJECT!

In cooperation with scientific and other institutions, numerous projects have been realized, and documented filmed series THE SECOND DIMENSION is a logical continuation of previous activities and it will be carried out within the Expedition.

THE SECOND DIMENSION is the first continental film in our region with the documentary underwater-explorative subject matter. During 2005, within the International speleo-diving expedition "UNA SANA CANTON 2005" an exclusive video material is collected, recorded on the locations of the Una and the Klokot source, Bastasko vrelo (well) and Dobrenica. This very interesting material made Federal TV to decide to finance the filming of the next 7 broadcasts with the same subject. The aim of this series is to put in the spotlight many natural beauties hidden from the eyes of public, the public that hasn't been aware of their existence!
